Adaptation
Squirrels hibernate. When all animals hibernate they eat and eat before so when they do go into hibernating they have enough energy to keep alive. Squirrels are hardly alive when they hibernate their heart rate is so slow. They wake up about once every fortnight to eat some more and to go to the toilet.

Description
They can be black, grey, white or brown with a fluffy tail and two pointy ears. They can be 13 to 91cm long.
Diet
Squirrels usally eat nuts, leaves, roots, seeds and other plants.They also catch and eat small animals, such as insects and caterpillars.
Habitat
Squirrels are found in parklands and forests in all continents except Australia and Antartica. Squirrels normally stay near trees, in not too dry places and not too cold places.
